Physical Therapy Services

PHYSICAL THERAPY EVALUATION AND TREATMENT:

Movement & Function provides therapy services for people with orthopedic and neurological conditions including vertigo and vestibular dysfunction, acute and chronic pain throughout the entire spine and peripheral joints, neurologic weakness and impaired gait/balance, post-operative status and generalized deconditioning.

First, the physical therapist takes a detailed history and conducts a thorough exam, including functional testing specific to each individual’s condition. Based on the results of the evaluation, the physical therapist and patient develop an appropriate and individualized treatment plan to address the condition and meet each individual’s goals. Every patient is an active partner in the delivery of treatment. Clear communication is necessary for effective therapy and to achieve the best possible outcomes.

The treatment plan and specific intervention during any one session depends on patient presentation, stage of healing and patient goals. Treatment may include manual therapy, strengthening and stabilization exercises, range of motion and flexibility exercises, gait and balance training, ergonomic evaluation and posture/positional correction, and conditioning.

HOME-BASED THERAPY:

The physical therapist comes to the patient’s home, which alleviates the need for transportation to a clinic and provides a natural opportunity to restore performance of daily tasks at home. Telehealth services may also be provided when appropriate.

Treatment time varies based on patient condition and tolerance for treatment, as agreed upon by the therapist and the patient at the start of care and each session. The first session requires approximately 60-75 minutes for evaluation and initiation of treatment. Follow-up visits typically last 45-60 minutes. Each patient also typically performs a home exercise program to further enhance the effects of treatment and to make additional gains on non-therapy days.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

Payment options include cash, credit cash, Venmo, and Zelle. Payment is due at time of service. If a patient would like to pay ahead of time for any reason, such as having a family member provide payment who is not present at the session, prepayment can be arranged. Payment plans are also available.

In order to see patients as soon as possible and to eliminate restrictions based on insurance requirements, insurance plans are not accepted. A Superbill from Movement & Function will be provided upon request for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.
